SOME DETAILS
Pinkston consists of Josh Pinkston, a multi-instrumentalist songwriter and recording artist. After years of various bands and monikers, Josh settled on Pinkston for the release of “Canyons” in 2021 on the lable Chain Letter Collective; a concept album written and recorded in 2020. It received warm praise with special emphasis on “Clouds Will Have Their Day” and “I’m In Town” among others.
2021 continued creative year for Pinkston, producing another solo project titled Symptoms and collaborating with other artists (Jeremy Enigk, Drak_ey, Kristin Morley) on audible and visual projects. Symptoms was released in the Spring of 2022, also receiving warm praise for its emotional and instrumental scale and tracks such as “Imagine Nation ft. Jeremy Enigk,” “Kno,” “Symptoms,” and more.
Canyons was written and recorded between May and December of 2020. It is a concept album of being stuck between two conflicting circumstances, not being able to see or move beyond them. It’s about the illusion that there are only two choices and directions to choose between, but also the ascent out of the illusion.
